We are looking for a full-time Senior Human Resources Generalist with a passion for food and hospitality.

You will report to the HR Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Senior Human Resources Generalist is handling the recruitment process in autonomy within a fast-paced environment and knowledge of the restaurant industry. The Senior Human Resources Generalist aids with and facilitates the human resource administration for all restaurant locations within the St. Louis area. The Senior Human Resources Generalist works closely with HR personnel to maintain employee files and HR records.

The Senior Human Resources Generalist must demonstrate proficiency in time management, be organized, and have the ability to work with discretion and handle sensitive information.

  • Handle recruitment process (phone screenings, interview candidates face-to-face, maintain the Applicant Tracking System), background screenings, references check, new-hire onboarding, and orientations, off-boarding process.
  • Maintain records of I-9 employment eligibility forms and follow up for missing information/forms of identification; corrections as required.
  • Order, track and distribute employee uniforms and/or equipment.
  • Supervise and assist HR internal audits such as I-9 Forms and job descriptions as per requested by the HR Director.
  • Understand knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees.
  • Add new employees to the payroll system ensuring complete accuracy in HR's data management.
  • Maintain employee files.
  • Process required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, salary increases, and other related employment matters in HRIS.
  • Monitor employee reminders.
  • Follow directions of the HR Director for compilation of reports from the database such as new hire, turnover and EEO reports, etc.
  • Assist HR Director with HR Initiatives and related projects such as policy, performance management, employee relations, benefits, recruiting, compensation.
  • Assist HR Director with all internal and external HR related inquiries or request.
  • Work closely with restaurant locations and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and retention of employees.
  • Work with HR Director to solve employee relations issues.
  • Maintain HR Systems as per requested by the HR Director.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Google Office Products.
  • Ability to work prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to travel within the area to gather employee documentation.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekend and holiday. Scheduled days and times may vary based on business needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources preferred.
  • 5+ years of restaurant industry work experience required.
  • 3+ years of recruitment experience required.
  • ADP experience required.
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
